Sebastian Hanson
I am a PhD student in the Finance department of the Stanford Graduate School of Business on the 2024-2025 job market.
My research interests lie at the intersection of asset pricing and applied macro-finance with applications to real estate, household, corporate and international finance.
In my job market paper, “Institutional investors in the market for single-family housing: Where did they come from, where did they go?”, I study the entry of institutional investors (or “Wall Street Landlords”) into the market for single-family housing.
My research is supported by a SIEPR Bradley fellowship.
Before moving to sunny California, I spent a year working as Research Professional for Prof. Amir Sufi at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I hold a Master’s in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and two undergraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Mannheim.
When I am not occupied with research or teaching you can most likely find me running around Stanford’s campus or training with my teammates at Peninsula Distance Club under the supervision of Dena Evans.
